The former president's Granddaughter Seeks Professional Guidance from Golf Legend Woods Ahead of LPGA Debut
The rising star has impressive social media presence
The young golfer can count on numerous prominent cheerleaders when she makes her professional golf debut later this week.
The 18-year-old athlete, who happens to be related to a former US president, was granted a sponsor's invitation to participate at the Annika competition in Florida.
Her grandfather, a passionate golfer, operates numerous courses worldwide and frequently plays against Kai.
"He's fairly competent. I shouldn't elaborate but we have competitive games," she revealed.
She mentioned that Trump, who cannot attend, advised her: "Just stay calm."
"My grandpa essentially told me to go out there and enjoy myself," she continued.
"In my eyes, he's simply an ordinary family member. He can't make it this weekend. He's focused on presidential duties, so he's rather occupied."
As an amateur, the golfer has participated in only three events in 2024 and maintains position 461 in the American Junior Golf Association rankings.
But she can receive tips from 15-time major champion, in a relationship with Vanessa.
"He represents the best player worldwide," Kai stated.
"Additionally, he's a more impressive human being. He advised me to compete, have fun, adapting to whatever happens."
Kai will face several most prominent players in women's golf at the Annika, such as world number two the champion, British Charley Hull, professional Thompson and last year's winner champion Vu.
The LPGA stated that involving Kai exposes golf to new audiences, specifically among the next generation.
The young star maintains substantial online presence and just introduced an exclusive apparel and wellness company.
The competition starts at 17:30 GMT.
